South Africa’s Kruger National Park is one of the biggest game reserves in the world. It provides shelter to almost 150 different species of animals. Elephants are one of them. The population of elephants in the reserve can go from 7000 to 11,000, so when you come across an elephant during your trip, it might not be such a big deal. But moments like the one featured in the video below are definitely rare.

In the clip, we can see an elephant calf trying to cross the road. But then he suddenly collapses right on the middle of the road. He lies motionless, but then his herd comes running to his aid. They saw that the little guy was immobile, so they surrounded him and tried to protect him from the vehicles and humans nearby. Thankfully, the baby gets up soon enough and they go their own way.
