Dogs are man’s best friend. They know how to love their owners unconditionally, and are always loyal. They have been documented throughout history, in stories, movies and everything else in between. They do so much to make our lives better every day. People with dogs are said to have lower chances of getting hypertension and heart diseases as well. They are certainly the best companions that God created for us.
Back in the day, Paul Harvey was a very influential presenter on radio. His powerful voice was behind some great monologues, including “So God made a farmer”. The 1978 monologue was delivered for the Future Farmers of America convention. In similar fashion, this video shows a monologue aimed to express appreciation towards dogs, called “So God made a dog”.
In one of the verses, it says “God looked down on his wide eyed children and said they need a companion. God said I need somebody strong enough to pull sleds and find bombs, yet gentle enough to love babies and lead the blind. Somebody who will spend all day on a couch with a resting head and supportive eyes to lift the spirits of a broken heart. God said I need somebody who would stand at your side when the world around you collapses. So God made a dog.”
If you weren’t so big on dogs, after listening to this segment, you must have had a newfound love for these canines! There is nothing like getting a dog’s love, and you just won’t feel it until you experience it yourself!
