Spike the Labrador had always been a good, dutiful dog. This pooch began working for the police after finishing his time serving for the military in Afghanistan. But little did he know that he would be in the middle of a love triangle between a war veteran and a police officer!
Spike had served alongside with U.S. Marine Jared Heine in Afghanistan. They were inseparable during the entire mission. Sadly, Heine had to be sent home after suffering from numerous brain injuries. That is when Heine and Spike split up.
Heine was struggling with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder after coming back home, and his mother was really concerned. Since he kept talking about Spike, she tried tracing the pooch through Facebook. She then found out that Spike was now working with Officer Laura Taylor in Virginia.
It had been love at first sight between Officer Taylor and Spike. When she found out about Heine and his condition, it broke her heart, because she knew she had to part with Spike. But she also knew that it was the best thing to do in the situation.
Spike’s partners then shared a hug, and Officer Laura asked Heine to take care of Spike. This is how a sweet dog became part of a love triangle. Heine must be feeling much better with Spike by his side now!
